According to Naija News, the group was headed by the chairman of the PDP Interim National Committee, Kabiru Taminu Turaki, alongside the Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BOT), Senator Adolphus Wabara.
The PDP confirmed this visit on their account on 𝕏, stating that the purpose of the delegation's visit to Ibadan was to express condolences to Governor Makinde regarding the abduction and deaths of teachers and students at the hands of terrorists.
“The Interim National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), under the leadership of Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, and the BOT Chairman, Senator Adolphus Wabara, visited Governor Seyi Makinde to offer their condolences.
“The delegation went to Ibadan to express sympathy to Governor Engr. Seyi Makinde for the tragic kidnapping and murder of educators and students in the state,” the statement indicated.

In the meantime, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has declared Engineer Kale Kawu to be its agreed-upon candidate for the governorship in the upcoming 2027 elections.
This declaration was made on Saturday by Bukola Saraki, a former President of the Senate.
He elaborated that Kawu was selected following thorough discussions with the members of the Kwara PDP and other individuals seeking the gubernatorial position.
The prior Governor of Kwara State mentioned that other contenders withdrew their candidacy and rallied behind the consensus pick.
