Renowned Nollywood actress and director Funke Akindele has revealed that she no longer physically attends church services on Sundays.
According to Naija News, she mentioned that this choice stems from the excessive attention she receives during worship.
In a video shared on her Snapchat account, the actress was shown at home cooking breakfast and getting her children ready for church. While addressing her followers in the clip, she mentioned that she would not be accompanying them to the church but would participate in the service virtually instead.
She elaborated that when she goes to church, it becomes difficult for her to worship in peace due to everyone wanting to take her picture. As she explained, the ongoing attention from both media personnel and congregants makes the atmosphere uncomfortable for her.
"Please do not inquire if I plan to attend church. I am not attending church. Whenever I go to church, they are always taking pictures of me. I will join the service online," she stated.
In other news, Funke Akindele has rejected allegations that she ignored Fuji musician Wasiu Pasuma at a recent event, labeling the trending story as incorrect.
The debate began after a video was posted on 𝕏 by a user with the caption, "Moment Funke Akindele snubbed Pasuma in public. This is not looking good at all."
